Paper Excellence and One Sky Forest Products sign co-location agreement

November 30, 2021  By P&PC Staff

Paper Excellence and One Sky Forest Products (One Sky) announced on November 30 that they have signed a non-binding co-location agreement. One Sky will co-locate its new oriented strand board (OSB) operations at the existing Prince Albert mill site, as per this agreement.

One Sky, as part of this co-location, will occupy 10 percent of the existing property. The companies will share log storage areas and existing infrastructure, including electrical, natural gas and rail lines. The Saskatchewan government recently allocated softwood and hardwood fibre to both companies.

“On behalf of Paper Excellence, I am pleased to announce this agreement with One Sky and begin moving forward with them on a co-location partnership,” said Carlo Dal Monte, vice-president of energy and business development. “As we continue to work towards restarting Prince Albert Pulp, this agreement is an example of how important co-operation and collaboration is to both the forest industry and to Saskatchewan’s economic growth overall.”

“We are very pleased to co-locate with Paper Excellence. This partnership is another indication of the growing strength of the Saskatchewan forest industry and an important milestone in progressing our new OSB facility in Prince Albert,” said Brian Fehr, chairman of One Sky Forests Products.

One Sky has completed a critical development milestone for the new OSB facility.
